hi i need some advice i need a loan for £2000 to get me out of a hole that i sunk in to after an ectopic pregnancy and to get rid of a overdraft that ive been in for over a year now... i used a site called captial central (supose to help you sort out) and they put me through to welcome finance but there was alot of messing about due to not having the right details they got them in the end but they said no (wasnt told why) but they now put me on to someone else who they think can help... but i honestly wanna cry... i dont know what to do.... i was looking in to halifax loans as my bank barclays said they wont help me til i get some way out of my overdraft which if i could do that i wouldnt be asking for a loan seems abit silly... does anybody have any advice any at all xxxx

Welcome finance - id steer clear of if you can help it, they charge disgusting amounts of interest on a loan of that amount (belive me,ive had one for that amount and it was 163 a month for 2 years!!!)
Do you have any family that could help you out?
Have you tried another high street lender?
Good luck0 -
well thats good to hear then they said no ... i have no family to really turn to i dont speak to most of them (long story but i have good enough reasons) i was looking at sainsburys i have a credit card with them... do you think it would be better to go to them? xxxStill searching .....:)0

If you can't get a loan stop applying now because the more applications you make in a short period of time the worse you credit history is going to look.
Pop over to the debt free wannabee board for helpful advise about how to cut back your outgoings to enable you to have more money to put towards your debts.
Also consider this - how much can you afford to repay a month? - whatever this figure is you leave in your account every month - you do not spend this - this in itself should reduce your overdraft.0 -
yer i know im gonna thank you it just seems to be gettin on top of me xStill searching .....:)0

can you post a statement of affairs eg earnings and outgoings cos it looks like you may only need a short term solution to your debts0
-
basically i earn and this is including tax credits and child benefits (i have a 5 nearly 6 year old DD) is £872 (i get paid every 4 weeks)
my outgoings are:
rent : £269
council tax: £47
food: £150
sky (this includes tv,phone and internet): £35
tv licence: £13
gas and electric(which im guessin will go up soon:£50
home contents insurance: £10
my DD school dinners £36
travel £20
so that £630
what i owe is:
overdraft: £1300 (which i hit the end of everymonth)
CC: £650
littlewoods direct: £253
so thats £2203
and thats about it xStill searching .....:)0 -
Is that really accurate? If you have £240 left over at the end of each month you are living well within your means and you should be able to get through your debts within a year easily. Have you tried keeping a spending diary to keep track of absolutely everything you buy? That way, you can see where the extra money is going and what you need to cut down.
Don't panic! You will get out of this. Have a look over the Debt-Free-Wannabe forum, they are the experts on getting out of debt, and also check out the Old Style forum for some great ways to cut down on spending money on food.0
