Router cutting phone off?

I have had a wireless modem installed for 6 months plus. It's connected to a filter via RJ45 and the phone plugs into filter also.

Now for some reason the phone disconnects when the modem is plugged into the filter. When I unplug it the phone works fine. I've tried different phones and different filters but still the same problem. Am i missing something simple?

I guess you mean RJ11 thin phone cable, not RJ45 network cable, betwixt filter and modem?

I can't think of anything obvious that would cause this, given that you've swapped filters and phones for others. Maybe post the modem model number? It could be a common fault.

Is there anything else (other phones) connected to other extensions in the house? Do these have filters?
