hi, i really need advice as im going to ring the tax credits helpline tonight and need to be totally prepared this time... I recently changed my claim from living as a couple to being a single parent.. i did this as soon as me and my partner seperated as i thought we were over for good!! I never recieved any payments at all and when i rang them i was always being told it was being processed, anyway 3 weeks later me and my partner got back together and i rang agains straight away to cancel my previous claim which i still hadnt recieved anything from and had to fill out the forms and send them off as climing as a couple again.. you can imagine how long it took for the forms to get to me and i sent them special delivery, iv still heard nothing from them at all and had no payment iv just found out im pregnant with my second child and im so stressed that im scared i will mis-carry. the nursery are threatening to give away my childs place and while im paying nursery out of my small wages i cant pay the bills. iv just had to hand in my notice on my apartment because even though il be backdated i cant tell the water electric and rent that because they dont care!! Im also going to have to give up my job as i cant pay nursery and have noone to mind my son for me. Then i wont be entitled to anything anyway.. please can anyone give me any advice, im so depressed and crying all the time. Im so scared when i phone them tonight they will be arsey with me and end up telling me nothing (again) please advise anyone i am desperate now. thank you

Have you considered going down to see the citizen advice - they have all the up to date info and will help you talk to the people who can help you.0

At the cab we have a special adviser's number that we can get through to on your behalf.
This is obviously causing you hardship without the tax credits and I would be going to your local tax office asking for an emergency payment. Good luck!0 -
I phoned them last night and asked about emergency payments they said they would give me the address (but not the phone number) but they cannot guarentee they will give me an emergency payment.. Plus they are only open mon til fri, and i work 6 days a week with no holiday days left..and i cant afford to have the time off work to go and sit in the tax office because iv heard it takes hours and it might be for nothing! Also when i spoke to them last night they said that the reason there is a hold up is because there is confusion as i seem to be on two claims!!! one claim i cancelled before i even got a payment from it, they said it might take longer then normal, they were borderline rude to me and didnt seem at all bothered about my situation! What are they finding so confusing!0
