Ravenglass/Eskdale Railway

Are there any cheap tickets for this railway in September. Appreciate any tips.

  • Do a search using the facility at the top of the forum as there was something on about this a few months ago re: cheap tickets.

Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI
  • If you are going here I would reccomend Muncaster Castle while in the area!
Banks - If they sold cars the wheels would come as 'extras'

The main thing I recall about this trip nearly 20 years ago was my husband saying he'd wait until he was on the train to go to the loo. Turned out to be tiny railway carriages with nothing of the sort and all we did all the time was make childish water flushing noises!

My top tip. Go to the toilet before you get on. LOL

  • If you get rained off, the BNFL visitor centre is worth a look.

You can save some money if you buy a combined ticket with a Northern Rail ticket, but if you're travelling by car, I've not been able to find anything.

    Sorry

p.s. remember that your ticket is valid all day, so, if the weather is good (or if you have small children with you) you can get extra value that way !
  • If you are planning on going on the Ullswater Steamer at any point then do that first as it is cheaper than the lal ratty and you will get the lal ratty half price.
