Hi all
Hope you dont mind me venting but im fuming with sky:mad: . Just to fill in on background we have been with them for tv/phone & broadband since january last year. We saw the thread on how to blag a free sky+ box so thought we'd give it a try. Hubby no good at these things and they said no so he cancelled.
Fast forward 28 days later (within in the 30 day cooling off period) realised nothing had been sorted out regarding a new phone/broadband so hubby rang up and asked them to cancel the cancellation and keep account as normal. He was told 'no' can't do that and too late to cancel. Anyway I rang up was told that this was rubbish and we could cancel the cancellation so we thought everything was ok.
Following week telephone was disconnected. Rang sky on mobile to be told that whilst they could cancel the broadband and tv from being cancelled we should have been told that phone couldn't. Ended up being three weeks without a phone as it seemed noone at sky could process the telephone to be reinstated. Well after all this I was sick and tired of them and decided we would cancel everything and change providers. Rang beginning of august and proceeded to switch companies. This is where it gets worse!!!
Rang yesterday to sort out paying final bill. First bloke I spoke to was a nightmare. Heres how conversation went....
Him - hi how can i help/whats your name?
me - Lucy smith (not my real name didn't want to post it on here)
him - (heavy breathing/creepy) Wow lucy thats a really sexy name
me - errrr thanks can i sort out my bill please?
him (again heavy breathing) mmm you sound really young like early 20's or something.
me - oh ta im not im 29 but ok can we sort out the bill?
him - Whats your husbands name?
me - steve smith
him - well you tell steve hes a really lucky man to have a sexy woman like you.
me- will do now can i sort this bill please
him - god your voice is so sexy
me - right ok
Basically this is how it went on until i got transferred to a supervisor. Now the scottish supervisor was great - sorted out my bill and at the end of the call I explained that I thought I had rung a sex line after the conversation with the first guy. Proceeded to tell him all about what he had said/manner etc. Supervisor was horrifed and went to inform manager who said the call had been recorded and she was listening to it whilst I was on the phone. She and supervisor agreed that it was discusting and the guy would be disciplined.
Now im wondering what to I do next. Should I write a formal complaint? Im no prude and can have a bit of banter with anyone but he was so sleezy it really creeped me out.

I would write a letter just stating something along the lines of:
As per my conversation with <supervisors name> I do wish to persue my complaint regarding an incident on <date>. I look forward to receiving confirmation of my complaint.
Send it recorded and then you know that it has arrived. Take a copy for your records too.:A

Chances are it was probably his last day!!
BTW, what are you wearing right now ? :rotfl:0 -
I think a formal complaint is definitely in order."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
Bertrand Russell. British author, mathematician, & philosopher (1872 - 1970)0 -
I think you should write a formal compaint about this, yes. Forward a copy to the office of James Murdoch (even if it's by e-mail) which will get forwarded to their customer relations team and perhaps also send a copy to their PR department because that's exactly the kind of behaviour no company wants made public and it may make them do a good deal for you which I think is pretty much the least you deserve for being spoken to in such an unprofessional manner. After posting about receiving an email to my MSE username/email from 'Money Expert' (note the use of ' '), I am now unable to post on MSE. Such is life.0
