in Credit cards
My credit card was used in a fraud last week. Basically, I must have lost my card on the train to Manchester. Someone used my card in selfridges to buy goods to the value of £2000. It wasn't a chip and pin card. Even though, you require pin at selfridges whoever did it must have used signature method. I don't know the pin to it as I am additional cardholder.
I reported it on the same day. However, It must have been good 3-5 hours till i realised.
Will the person whose the primary cardholder be responsible?

Contact your bank and tell them the situation, you should not be held responsible, they will do a chargeback and recover the funds although this can take 2-3 weeks.
You have reported it to the police as well haven't you?Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
The primary card holder rather than you will be responsible.
Obviously the first thing they will need to do is look at the signature which was given at the point of sale and see how it differs from your own.
Selfridges should have taken care to check the signature for such a large amount................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
Yes but signature is something that can be forged easily or near-to.
I don't want the primary cardholder to be responsible. That card was given to me in trust. I think the police will be sending me a statement through the post which I need to complete and sign. No doubt by the time it is investigated the fraudster will have vamoosed.0 -
The Primary Card holder is responsible however you can pay on his or her behalf in the unlikely event that anyone has to pay anything as a result of the fraud................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0
