British Gas WON'T answer!!

Just thought I would share my recent experience thus far with British Gas.
After Martin's advice in July, I swithced via Energyhelpline.com online to British Gas and their capped tarris until December 2009. That was on 21st July. Got receipt via email and reference number, and was told that BG should contact within three weeks. Errrr... they didn't.
Emailed them via BG website on 21st August asking them what was happening. Got automatic receipt back by email saying they would be in touch asap. Errr... they didn't.
Emailed Energyhelpline.com at end of August and after a few days (on 2nd Sep) got reply saying they would chase it up. Also emailed a complaint through to British Gas three days ago on 2nd of Sep asking for some sort of contact. They still haven't been in touch.
So - I'm left wondering if BG are ignoring me because they don't want any more customers on that tarrif. I was accepted onto it through Energyhelpline.com and so one would expect there to be some liability somewhere here as I am still paying normal (higher) prices with my current supplier (price has gone up) and I am waiting for news. I don't want to find out that I have missed other deals because of being ignored.
I know BG have a poor reputation when it comes to customer service but thought it worth it if I can get on this capped deal.
Anyone else had problems with Energyhelpline.com or British Gas over similar??
Thanks.
Andy

Never used energyhelpline but my personal experience of BG is akin to yours - they are entirely hopeless, promise to do things then never do, no-one takes responsibility for anything, every one of the people I've spoken to don't seem to know basic info about their products/services etc. Apallingly inefficient company IME.
PS Have you seen how much they are charging for electricity on the Dec 2009 cap?? Would you REALLY want to commit to this company for 15 months?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
