Need tyre help

Right

I have a 52 plate 1.2 16v clio. I need 2 new tyres. I have on there at the moment 185/55/R15. I checked on a website, and it says that my car uses 175/65/T14. I am confused :confused::confused:

The alloys are the original which came with the car, so I am wondering can anyone tell me which is correct....

Thanks

I would check with your nearest local Renault dealer - they should be able to explain what sizes you may be able to have on those wheels - do you have an owners manual by any chance?

The tyres you have are almost certinly the correct ones R15 or R14 (you say T14 but I presume that is a typo) is the rim size 15 or 14 inch you would not be able to get a R14 on a 15 inch rim.

175/185 = tread with (how wide is the tyre)

65/55 = profile high in % (e.g. low squat sporty tyres or big saloon tyres)

    14/15 = wheel size

Therefore if you have if you have 15" wheels on there at the moment, then you must have the same tyres again. The handbook will state the original size wheels but manufacturers & dealers often upgrade these to help sell the car.

The original tyre/wheels would have given you a softer ride, then ones you have now will give you a sportier ride.

!!!!!!...are you really that stupid? They're 15 inch diameter tyres already fitted so it's safe to say that as they hold air and haven't dropped off the rims that you have the correct tyres don't you think?

Technically it is a 15" rim.

    Tyre & rim = wheel.

I f you go into a tyre supplier they will explain your options. The width and profiles can be varied within reason. But remember if the tyre you fit has an incorrect rolling circumference it will affect speedo reading.
