We have just found out we are to be posted to Waddington. I've looked at all the RAF websites but they are pretty carp to be honest.
Can anyone give me any info, good or bad.
I would like to know a little more about the quarters, mother and toddler groups, facilities on camp.
Also I know there is a swimming pool, is it any good?
Thanks

  • I did 4 months there at the beginning of the year - albeit as a singleton in the Officers mess.

Swimming pool isn't grand but it does the job. More than adequate for lengths and stuff, roomy enough for a lot of people taking little kids there - not sure if there's a specific mother toddler group or not.

There are decent bus links into Lincoln from waddington village but it's a bit of a walk to them. The Hive and Spar shop are on the quarters side of the camp (it's split in two, minor security to get into the quarters/living bit and then you have to show a pass again at the guardroom to get to the ops side (the pool and gym are on this side)).

There's a small Budgens supermarket in waddington village itself which is handy for bread/milk etc and there's also a chemist, post office and your usual takeaways.
Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.
Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)
    Loan from Friend = £2000
  • You could call the local HIVE, I have sent a pm with the number.
