Words to school Hymns/words?

Hi all,
My lil boy has been coming home singing hymns and songs that I used to sing at school and he wants us to sing together but I've forgotten the words!
So I wondered if anyone could please help me source a website/websites that provides the words to the following:
Cross over the road
Make me a channel of your peace
Jesus is coming for his bread (?!)
Yellow bird
Rat a tat tat (xmas song)
If I had a hammer
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that. Unfortunately that site is really more of the "heavy worship" type of hymns rather than the lighter school versions. Thanks anyway
Also, I'm too embarassed to ask the school to be honest!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
I could ask our very nice music teacher if you pm me with a list of those that you wantI haven't got one!0

Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your love;
Where there is injury your pardon, Lord;
And where there's doubt true faith in you.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there's despair in life let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, only light;
And where there's sadness, ever joy.
Make me a channel of your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
In giving to all men that we receive;
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.

Yellow bird, up high in banana tree.
Yellow bird, you sit all alone like me.
Did your lady friend leave the nest again?
That is very sad, makes me feel so bad.
You can fly away, in the sky away -
You're more lucky than me.
I also have a pretty girl - she's not with me today.
They're all the same, the pretty girls...
They tend the nest, then they fly away.
Yellow bird, up high in banana tree.
Yellow bird, you sit all alone like me.
Better fly away, in the sky away,
Picker coming soon, pick from night to noon.
Black and yellow you, like banana too -
They might pick you some day.
Wish that I were a yellow bird - I fly away with you.
But I am not a yellow bird -
So here I sit, nothing else to do.
Yellow bird, yellow bird, yellow bird

If I had a hammer
I’d hammer in the morning
I’d hammer in the evening
All over this land
I’d hammer out danger
I’d hammer out warning
I’d hammer out the love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a bell
I’d ring it in the morning
I’d ring it in the evening
All over this land
I’d ring out danger
I’d ring out warning
I’d ring out the love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a song
I’d sing it in the morning
I’d sing it in the evening
All over this land
I’d sing out danger
I’d sing out warning
I’d sing about the love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land
Well I’ve got a hammer
And I’ve got a bell
And I’ve got a song to sing
All over this land
It’s the hammer of justice
It’s the bell of freedom
It’s the song about the love between
My brothers and my sisters
All over this land0 -
I hope you realise that I will now be singing If I had a hammer all night :rotfl:0

:rotfl: You may do better if you look for "Jesus is coming for his BRIDE"!Bargainbabe wrote:Jesus is coming for his bread (?!)
And I'm sorry, but I don't think it's one I know! Although if you whistle the tune I may have a better idea. Ask him if it's one you can also sing the words "Sing Hallelu-u-jah" to, I've got that tune on the brain now and it could be that one. If it is you can sing almost any words to it: "Jesus is ri-i-sen", "He died for me-e-e" etc.
Trinny has provided the words for the only one I could have helped you with, although I've had trouble with it since Maggie hijacked it ...
Many years ago, my sister asked my mother what "meat soles" were. My mother didn't have a clue, so asked for a context. "It's in 'O little town of Bethlehem', she said. "It says 'Where meat soles will receive him still the dear Christ enters in'." She meant "meek souls"!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks everyone, they are just what I was looking for. (Sorry for the hammer song, but I love it! LOL)
I am now desperately seeking rat a tat tat, so cheekymole if your music friend can help me, that would be great

Yes Sue it does go something along the lines of:
Sing Hallelujah to the lord
(this line is then repeated about 3/4 times!)
The moves on to Jesus has risen from the dead..(which is also then repeated!)
(although my and my school mates used to sing "jesus is coming for his bread, jesus has lost his blood* head"
, sorry I was only 8 at the time!) "There are no pockets in a shroud..."0
