Nationwide have today approved our mortgage application

The story was, an apparent random number of application's are being selected to be double checked by their head office, due to the turmoil in recent months. The local underwriter approved the application last week, but our case was selected to be reviewed before final approval was granted. I was supposed to hear Monday, but they called today to confirm the application is fine and has now been fully approved, we should receive the confirmation in writing by end of the week.

    That's what they say, anyway.
  • I put in my application last week through the Nationwide themselves. My new flat is all tied up and my moving date is the 14th October. I hope the Nationwide are quick on the mark else big trouble as it is all tied up! The person Im dealing with said it would be fine so hopefully all will be well!

    Like to worry haha

After submitting my application using a broker, the survey was completed 4 days later and I had my offer within 9 days. This was at the beginning of Sept 11.

They kept me informed via text message. Good service in my experience.

Edit: They also requested a reference from my employer as I had not received my first paycheck at my new job.
