Gas/Elec bills - 2 bed flat
Hi all, newbie here!
My boyfriend and I have just bought a 2 bedroom top floor flat and are trying to work out our monthly budget before we move in. Please could you give some advice on what we can expect our average gas and electricity bills to be per month?
Our cooker is run on gas (the hob at least, it may be an electric oven) and our heating is a gas-to-radiator system.
Thanks Rosie

It's really difficult for anyone to give you the answer you want because there are so many variables (how much you are in/how extravagant you are/how many appliances and gadgets/how energy efficient they are/how well insulated the flat is/how efficient the boiler etc are and so on). Scan the threads above, plenty of people giving their own situations/payments on them and you may find some that give you an idea of what you should budget. Most of them are focused on cutting their bills so there is a range.
If you are going to pay monthly, you need to look at what you will pay over a year and divide by 12 because your winter bills will be higher than summer. If you are going to pay quarterly, obviously your first bills will be the highest.0 -
Thanks for that Magentasue, I'll have a look through the links...0
