I would not be eating that, for several reasons.

If your friend can't see the sense in refrigerating a meal containing meat, what other basic hygiene tenets has she conveniently forgotten.

I can think of nicer ways of spending the night hours than on my knees in front of the great white trumpet but then I don't enjoy pain.

I would be counting the actual cost of this 'free' meal if you lose two days pay from work as a result of eating it and going down with a raging upset tummy.

In your shoes, I might tell my friend that I had eaten but that it made me ill so that I got the chance to remind her that many foods really should be refrigerated. A gentle nudge from you might prevent her taking risks with her own health.
  • Well the general consensus of opinion is it's safer in the bin so that's where I'm about to put it!

I binned the last lot of lamb curry. Not because I thought I might get food poisoning but because the meat was so fatty the previous time it made me gag. I can't bear fatty meat (I cut every morsel of fat off)- she wolfs down the whole lot, fat and all _pale_

when I was a child we used to eat something called "joey grey". this would stand on the stove for days and would always have something new being thrown into it (food I mean, not the odd dead cat!)

none of us were ever sick, and we did not have a fridge to put things in anyway. Today tho, I must admit to being more concerned about food poisoning, mainly because I think the quality of raw ingredients (esp cheap chicken) is not very good.
Also, I have probably lost all the natural defences I built up as a child.

After that long answer, I would say I would not eat it.

Where's your sense of adventure?

Anyway, never mind that, where's my curry? :(
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I'd eat it. are you sure she hadn't been keeping the whole pan in the fridge and taken it out to reheat that day?
  • I am glad you decided not to eat it. I wouldn't either. I left the oh a pan of mince for his tea and he left some of it out. I put it straight in the bin and told him off. If he had put it in the fridge I would have eaten it the next day.
