CAr No Claims & Van Insurance

Currently I have a BMW 325 tds se auto which only does 30 mpg around town and my insurance is coming up in a few months so I was thinking of getting something more economical. Previous to this i had an Astravan 1.7 dti that was amazing on fuel so I was thinking of getting one. Trouble is last time the van insurer mirrored my no claims off my car then when I came to insure a car again the new insurance company said the van insurer used the no claims rather than mirroring.
The question is it possible to insure a van while still maintaining my car no claims ??
(I believe after 2 years not using car no claims you go back to zero)

You need to find a broker i suppose or an insurer that will offer mirror ncb or introductory ncb assuming you have a clean cliam free lisc. The only issue is i am unsure what your occupation is as if you are not a tradesman i am assuming you won't be getting a commercial goods policy and will be wanting a van of a private car policy (which some insurers will do). You need to really phone around and lay your cards on the table. However what I would say is that whether its an intro/mirro ncb scheme you should still build up your own no claims bonus, however if that is on a commercial vehicle policy some insurers may not accept it in the future if you decide to use the bonus on a private car policy. Hope this makes sense!! xx:A0
