do not use Google chrome,, no way enar as good as firefox, may be faster for loading things, but it is in no way better

It's going to be faster for using GoogleApps, which is what it's intended for if I'm not mistaken, rather than a complete browser replacement.

I trioed it and found it slower. I also found after installing it that roughly every hour google installer tried to access the internet. I didn't really like the fell of it either.

I've iuninstalled it now, I may give it another go when it's out of beta.

I have just downloaded Google's new browser Chrome and it is so fast compared to IE7. I have recently tried ot use IE8 but it just crashed my computer so I went back to IE7. I then read about Chrome on the BBC news website and I am absolutely hooked on it now. It's fast, simple and doesn't seem to hog system resources. The only problem I can find is that FLASH applications don't work with it - but I'm sure it won't be long before they do. I would recommend anyone to try it.

    Well done Google :T

    I wouldn't.

    1) A malicious website can download anything it wants to your computer as it is using an older version of Apples Webkit which is vulnerable to carpetbombing.

    2) The toolbar actually contains a keystroke logger and Google keeps not only that information but ties it to IP addresses too.

    3) You can guarantee that there won't be an Adblocker available.

    4) It has bugs, lots of. OK it's a BETA so you expect them but Gmail has been in BETA for years.

Personally I never let anything Beta on my computers, there is nothing in Beta that is so "must have" or valuable that I would risk my systems for, and I have a pretty good recovery setup that has been tested and likely would cope with most if not all disasters. It is just not worth it. I leave Beta testing to those with the knowledge to make meaningful contributions to the product developers. Discussion boards are littered with average Joe's who have installed a beta product that has wreaked havoc and they need help to fix it. If you computer is not important to you then play away, or you know what you're doing, otherwise I'd leave beta testing to those who do.
