British Gas dual fuel

Around 20 months ago I switched to British Gas (click energy) on-line dual fuel, as this was the cheapest on comparison sites at that time.
My account shows click energy 1. This site now says switch to British Gas click energy 5.
What is the difference, and why is there a difference, are British Gas taking the PI**.
If I switch to 5 will BG bring out 6 next month and 7 the month after???????
I thought the Utility companies were supposedly regulated.
Rip off Britain yet again I guess.

If there is a price difference and it would be in your favour to switch, then unless you are still tied in to a contract there should be no reason why you cannot change tariff? Be cautious though - the price hikes for the online tariffs haven't been announced yet, according to the home page on here it's sensible to factor in potential rises of 20 - 25%. It might be worth you looking at British Gas's fixed to 2011 tariff - we're just changing to that from their standard tariff.
