Been having a look at the new sony ebook after seeing it on breakfast TV this morning. Is it worth investing in one?
Seems to get good reviews but I'm scared it's just a gimmick and will be useless in a couple of years.
Anyone who has had any experience of one or any tips I would be grateful

yes I was looking at it too and having a fish around Waterstones websites to see which ebooks they are selling. Not convinced, though I can imagine it being fab for the 1/2 times a year I'm going on hol and don't want to cart a lot of books around. I can see its value for literature students who could potentially carry an entire course worth of reading around on it, though no way of annotating, I think.0

Was looking at the real one in a Waterstones branch today. Not bad but I would not even dream of buying one without a backlight, the primary purpose being to read with lights off while missus is sleeping.
In 3 years time there will be similar eBooks around for £100 with access to Wifi and BBC iPlayer in colour. I'd get a library subscription, and borrow real tree based books till then.0
