Anyone know of any FREE software that can recover files of a corrupted SD card please? Have downloaded a couple (diskinternals being 1) but they all charge - teasing you by showing you the files and asking to pay to recover them
Thanks
Thanks

But then you won't know whether the pay for will work either unless it has some sort of trial.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Could try restoration too... the more free ones you can try the better, you never know.

In the past I have used Restoration 2.5.14 and also TestDisk which are both free and portable.0

Not usually possible to recover SD data in my experience, it's not like recovering from a magnetic hard drive I'm afraid, but good luck in trying.0

Thanks - will give some a go. The thing is my SD card is "corrupt" so not seen by a lot of these software. DiskInternals let me see the files and guarantees a restore if I can see them. Guess its too much to ask from free software... will try the mentioned ones.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

I had success recovering files from a corrupted SD card using "WinHex". Not free, and harder to use than most, but I think the free version will do what you need.
If you know your files are jpegs, you can set it to recovery all files starting with the jpeg 'header' and set the size larger than you know your pics will be. Then you load and re-save all the pics in your favourite photo editor.
Worked for me when nothing else would, though that was a few years back.0 -
What does the SD card belong to? For example is it from a camera, and if so, can the camera read the card? Thanks - will give some a go.
