my step sister has asked me to be a bridesmaid for her too im a size 18 but she's a size 30.

She said we can have any style we want aslong as its the colour she wants which is fair enough

Perhaps you could let them pick which dress they like the most and suits them the most because not all of them suit the same thing. Aslong as its one of the 6 you short listed and obviously the colour you've chose.

Have they actually tried on the dresses?
A lot of times people have a perception of what will and won't look good on them without actually trying anything on.

If you can, I would get them all into a shop (even if it is only Debenhams or the like) to try on a bunch of different styles similar to what you have picked. Then both you and they can realistically see what looks good on who and which style of dress looks the best on all of them.

if you are paying then tell them what they are wearing and either like it or don't be bridesmaid

if they are paying then obviously they need more say.

We're paying for ours and they are wearing what they are told to wear. Much simpler
