Companies not recognising BFPO

Has anyone else encountered this problem to me it is getting beyond a joke. Lately it seems companies have updated their software and omitted to add BFPO so when trying to create accounts it is near impossible.
For one not many know what BFPO stands for - BRITISH FORCES POST OFFICE the number that follows identifies the end station/area ie Afghan, Iraq, Germany, Cyprus and Northern Ireland to name a few.
I have had trouble changing address with HMRC child tax credits, Barclays Bank( been with them over 14yrs),Halifax, Woolworths and a few others.
Years ago used to use the Mill Hill postcode or xxo oxx but now when they ask for house number and postcode this is not possible. Sorry I am just getting tired of seeming to have to explain our circumstances time and time again.
Hopefully I am alone in this but I would be intrigued to know if there was something we could do to address (haha) this or if others have had similar problems.

Thanks, have actually done that before. But now all they ask for is house number and postcode.
It's just annoying having to go through the saga of explaining what a BFPO address is.Mortgage
