NatWest student overdraft

Just to let people know, Natwest student overdraft yearly increases are now available, don't let anyone in branch tell you otherwise!
I went into a branch (not my own) to ask for an increase as I am now going into my 3rd year. I was told to wait until the "about the 8th" because they hadn't "come through" yet. I then called my own branch and they did it straight away over the phone.

Also went into branch today to apply for an increase. Was given a card by the branch and told I must call an 0845 number. Again lack of product knowledge from staff numbers - there is an 0800 number for students!
0800 200 400 for overdraft increases - they will be done immediately! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

A couple of weeks ago I went into a branch in Derby and asked about the increase in my overdraft, and was told it was done automatically on the 1st September!! Obviously this isn't true, but managed to get hold of the freephone number today and they have increased it for me. AND they are going to follow up on the wrong information given to me in the branch :j:ADFW Nerd 145

I have quoted you pandora as others have said similar things. There was a change in the way student overdrafts were done in June this year. Not ALL staff appear to be aware so for everyone to say something is a lie when it could be lack of experience, following what has happened in previous years or possibly is poor communication(I know it should be better), is a little harsh IMHO, but I do understand what you mean.0 -
Don't you just hate it when call centre people will tell you any lie to get rid of you.
I wasn't the first to say it - see quote! The guy on the phone did sound genuine about chasing it up, but as the person quoted said, a lot of call centre people do say anything to get rid of (I've worked in them, not done it personally but I know lots of people do!)
Obviously I didn't know the way the overdraft worked had changed recently so yeah it could have been a genuine mistake on the part of the first advisor I spoke to. Didn't mean to cause offence!! I was mostly just commenting back on what JD87 had said!! Sorry:ADFW Nerd 145
