Printer Ink Cartridges

I foolishly bought a load of cartridges for my Canon IP5200 from printerinks.com and find that several either never worked or stop working well before they are empty. The quality of the images is poor and so I wrote to express my disappointment. What a waste of time, there is no money back if it is more than 14 days from purchasing and I have to pay to send them back for a refund! What a scam, I will never do it again, a costly error of judgement

  • Thats infuriating!

Although it is tempting to stock up when you see a bargin, its not always advisable if you are not a heavy printer. The inks have a best before date on them and can dry up even when sealed.

I had a HP520 printer which I bought a cheap HP cart for - but it was dry.
  • If you want to you can quote the 'Distance Selling Regulations' which cover all internet traders and you can see here http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf the relevant legislation says:

3.68 If goods develop a fault within the first six months of being sold,
the law presumes that the fault was there when you sold the goods –
unless you can show otherwise. You should not charge return costs
for goods that have been rejected because they are faulty.

So if you bought them less than 6 months ago, they should refund your money and pay for the return of the faulty goods

If you bought them with a credit card you could try and claim from the credit card company.
