Can anyone who's been tell me what accomodation they stayed in and what it was like? I'm bamboozled by the choice as you choose style - but then also area and room number!
Any general tips would also be helpful - we want to go xmas time

Hi There
we went to center parcs Whinfell forest this summer and my advice is-
Don't go!!
Unless
You have no imagination
You want to be "active" but somehow feel you need permission to do so
You really really like swimming pools
You are researching the work of Solzhenitsyn
I know that some people love it but for us it was awful, there was lots of wildlife at Whinfell (squirrels, rabbits etc) but i bet if you picked them up and turned them upside down they'd have had the center parcs logo stamped on their tummies.
Sorry not to be much use.

Sherwood forest is a great Centre parcs, we go every year and we all have plenty of imagination. I have heard Whinfell is the weakest of the CP's though, it wasn't originally a CP was it?
We normally stay in the two storey villas at the back of the Aqua Sauna - off next weekend actually!

Hi there, we've been to Sherwood lots.
Yes it's expensive but for our son aged six ( and three quarters ) it's a perfect holiday.
We go very early in December, the decorations are all on and the Christmas activities but it's a lot cheaper.
If we go in summer we get the cheapest lodge possible but pay to get as close to the center as possible. In Winter we get the best we can afford but still as close to the center as possible.
It really depends what you want out of a holiday, we are not sporty and don't participate in any of the activities. My husband and son have done the Owl experience and the Hawk experience and found them very interesting.
Ther are ways to save money when on the park. Perhaps the easiest is to remember you are not 'trapped' in the Village. Clumber Park is 10 minutes away and Rufford Abbey and Country Park 5 minutes away. The will both have Christmas celebrations. There is a good pub 5minutes away called Rose Cottage that does really nice food and there is a Tesco 5 minutes away in Ollerton.
Hope this helpsC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -

Thanks - yes we want to go at xmas for the 'winter wonderland' celebrations. Born blonde (or anyone) can you tell me what style/area/lodge number you stayed in?
I was going to go for an executive villa but the only ones left are in the pines area which is the furthest distance and i've read reviews that they're the only ones not updated. Instead i was looking at the new style woodland lodge- are these ok - can you recommend an area/lodge in particular?

We love center parcs, but we normally go to the Whinfell forest, usually as a big group though as sisters go at the same time.
Accomodation we normally stay in the wooden lodges(self catering) they have a great wood log fire, which is great for cold evenings nice and romantic. The place is nice near christmas as its lit up with lits everywhere and illuminated reindeer, just freeze yourself whilst cycling around, but its great as theres no cars.0 -
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Travel, Trips and Holidays board, where it should get more replies. We tend to stay in the 2 storey executive ones - they aren't that far from the centre and close to the Aqua Sauna. My children are 4 and 6 (and a half lol!) and to be honest, we don't tend to spend a great deal as once they've been to the pool and gone on the multitude of play areas etc the days just fly by. We usually have a go on the lake and maybe a round of crazy golf lol!0

we went to sherwood in may and really really enjoyed it we stayed in an exectutive villa and it was nice and roomy we where villa 400 i think and it was a nice cycles ride away. my OH isnt an outdoorsy type at all but even he enjoyed himself.
The shops and restaurants where good and we put the kids in the kids club for a few sessions so we could go swimming and have some alone time and they loved it and not very expensive either £15 for 3 hrs per child. Plus the play areas are really good too.
We would def go againOther women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts
