I just don't want to open up this case for review by applying for IB. I'm fully entitled to DLA, but a new pair of eyes could well view the award differently.

I know what you mean - many genuine claimants live in fear of their benefits being taken away.

Thanks to the last two posts. I've got DLA for another 11 months. I just don't want to open up this case for review by applying for IB. I'm fully entitled to DLA, but a new pair of eyes could well view the award differently.

let me explain this a different way,the ib50 known also as the personal capability assessment,is to decide if you are fit enough for work or not, whilst DLA on the other hand is based on any care and or mobility needs you have, you can be paid dla whilst working,so the two really have no connection.
If your dla has another 11 months to run you will get the renewal pack in febuary, and if your care/mobility needs are the same then you shouldnt have a problem.
Therefore i see NO reason why you shouldnt return the IB50,unless of course you know for certain that it will be refused because you are now fit and well enough to return to work
I would also keep in mind the fact that if you dont apply now for I/B then from next month you will have to apply for ESA which will be harder in some respects to qualify for.

Thanks - that's great advice. I just know who difficult it was to get DLA in the first instance, but I'm possibly barking up the wrong tree here. I'm certainly a long way from being fit & well for work.
