I'm worried they're shifting the blame more towards me although admitting that they should have checked properly
I checked the policy document was satisfied with the details regarding the risk address, premium etc etc.0 -
On further consideration, I feel that what is key is what is actually stated on the documentation. If htey have sent you a Statement of Fact then you need to check it over - the address issue is not important. You need to check whether the Statement of Fact confirms that it is a homeowner or landlord policy. If it shows on the Statement of Fact that it is a homeowner policy then there's nothing you can do, as whoever made the initial mistake, the onus falls on the policyholder to inform the insurer if any information contained in the Statement of Fact is incorrect.0

Went through the policy documents again and nowhere its stated either as 'Homeowner' or 'landlord" but simply as Home Emergency insurance. The confirmation email received in Oct 2007 also states "Thanks for purchasing a Home Emergency Policy".0
