Meter - who to choose?

As a renter, I've got to be honest and say I've never really paid much interest to suppliers of our energy because before now, we've not been allowed to change suppliers (landlord wouldn't allow it) but now we can.

I've decided to go the meter route because a year of quarterly massive bills messed us up every time.

So, how do I choose which to go to for a meter? Or all they all pretty similar for meter payment?

  • Everyone has a meter. Do I assume you mean a pre-payment meter, the sort that you put the money on? Look for references here to ebico, I've no experience of them.

Pre-payment meters are often (maybe not always) more expensive than paying bills. You don't have to pay quarterly, though. You can set up a monthly direct debit and there is usually a discount for doing this.
