Tesco Internet Saver problems

Tried to log in this morning around 1.30am but was twice told that I had entered the wrong details. Rang them up this morning and was third time unlucky.
Now I am locked out meaning that I will have to pay money into my Halifax a/c the old fashion way instead of by FP from my Tesco Internet saver.
What is worrying is that I am 100% certain that I have entered the correct numbers and letters from my security no. and password. I am not a novice with regards to internet banking and I have used the same security details for over a month without any problems whatsoever.
It's either a problem with the banks computer system or they are deliberately locking out accounts that have seen a number of large value transactions over the past month.

I had the same problem about 7 weeks ago. Entered all the right info and failed on error attempt. Logged me out. Called up and moaned advised that the third time I purposely put in the wrong info to test their system.
They advised that had no way of seeing if it was me being wrong (which I wasn't, as use the same password for all my internet banking) or them being wrong. I complained that I needed the money (as I used the account as a feeder to my c/a and was overdrawn cause of no funds from Tesco). On that occasion that transferred some funds over the phone, I did have to complain for 10 mins and speak to a manager.
They then sent me a re-activation code that never arrived, then a duplicate one that never arrived. Then the sent two on the same day (which cancelled both out so couldn't use), then their computer sent 1 a day for 3 days (which again cancelled them all out). After waiting, complaining etc I requested a transfer of all my monies to my other bank and close that savings down. They did it, but only have 8 codes, 2 letters and 6 weeks of waiting. Finally got all my money and the account closed.
2 weeks after I closed the account, they sent me a please don't leave letter and sorry for all the problems with £30 worth of Tescos vouchers. I sold these to my parents for £20
My advise, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Their FPs are great, but the customer service is shocking and only being able to transfers funds online is terrible - what happens if you had a real emergency and had no internet access!? Take your money out and go elsewhere I would advise.0 -
The same thing happened to me, too, and I ended up with £1600 being locked for a week until a new registration code was sent out.Speculator wrote: »I am 100% certain that I have entered the correct numbers and letters from my security no. and password.
I logged into OH's account using my browser. Afterwards, I attempted to log into my account 3 times and each time I was told my details were incorrect. Like you, I was 100% certain that I had keyed in the correct credentials. I phoned Tescos and they could not see any failed attempts on my account. I closed my browser and logged in successfully.
However, when I tried to log in to O/H's account it was O/H's account that was locked as the 3 failed attempts had been registered on O/H's account.
What happened: Tescos keep the session information in a browser cookie. After my successful login to O/H's account my login attempts failed because the credentials I typed in were related to O/H's session and so were the failed attempts. In other words the customer id I had entered had been ignored and the cookie took precedence.Dagobert0 -
In my case, I am the only one with a Tesco a/c. After the 2 failed attempts, I phoned up Tesco internet finance for my final attempt to gain access. He did warn me that it was my third and final attempt before proceeding so I made 100% sure that I gave him the correct info.
I can only assume Tesco changed my security password/Number without my knowledge.0 -
Was thinking of opening one, thanks for the head up!0

Resetting my security is going to take longer than expected. Just received a letter requesting my signature before they can set up my security.
Probably think twice before putting money into the Tesco Internet Saver in the future.0 -
Everytime security is reset a new signature sample is requested. However, you can phone them and explain to them that they already have your signature. Worked for o/h on one occasion.Speculator wrote:Resetting my security is going to take longer than expected.
