Hi everyone..... can anyone give me any ideas what to do with a load of white grapes? Bought them as they were cheap and I thought I was being healthy.... but nobody in my house wants to eat them as it is toooooo cold. Can I use them for cooking? Any suggestions grapefully received :rotfl: . ... or they will get thown out and I hate throwing out good food!

Have you got a juicer? Even in a blender you can juice them and then filter the pips out - kids find it easier to drink juice than eat fruits sometimes.
You could leave the grapes out of the fridge to get to room temperature and then eat them with cheese, otherwise.

Freeze them!! They taste just like little boiled sweets and will last for a couple of months in the freezer. Great for a tasty little snack, especially after a really rich meal0

My son would have demolished them in ten minutes!!
I've made grape sponge flan before, make/buy a sponge flan case, fill with halved, deseeded grapes and cover with yellow/green quick gel. I know it's still a cold dish but it makes a nice pudding.0 -
Cut up and sprinkle on porridge/other breakfast cereal in the mornings...

Erm... cut most of the up, simmer gently for several minutes in a small amount of water, then press them back into the liquid through a sieve using the back of a ladle.
And some sugar then simmer to get a syrup (reduced by about a half should do it.
Bung this into a bowl, halve the remaining grapes into it then bung a sponge mixture on top... èt voilà...

How about Chicken Veronique? Saute some chopped onion and chicken, add a glass or two of white wine. Simmer until reduced by half, add a good dollop of creme fraiches and chopped tarragon if you have some. Throw in a hndful of halved grapes. Serve with rice.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

I never thought of juicing grapes, never thought of cooking with them and I def never ever thought of freezing them so they are similar to sweets! What an inventive and creative lot you are. :T Will work my way through these lovely suggestions.... thanks again!0

Mix grapes and strawberries (or any other sweet fruit) together. Mix with some ratafia biscuits and stir well. Top with creme fraiche and a layer of demerera sugar. Put in fridge for an hour. Then stick under a very hot grill to caramelise the sugar. Sounds cold but is actually quite hot when it's finished - and YUMMY.0

Make wine! Grapes can be frozen if you're not going to use them straight away. The great thing about winemaking is that fruit which is a little overripe, maybe even starting to ferment of its own accord, is at least as good as fresher fruit. Some of my older winemaking books even suggest using mouldy fruit, though I don't usually go that far!

Frozen grapes (which Ruby Pudding mentioned) can also be used in drinks intead of ice cubes. Frozen grapes have the advantage that they won't melt and dilute the drink, and they're also quite decorative, as well as tasty!0
