Do you mean your phone or your phone line? Have you tried swapping the microfilters? Otherwise report a fault to your phone service provider.

I have cordless digital phones which aren't working, they are on but making a funny noise, but my internet is fine, so surely the line is ok??

    Not necessarily.

For a start, unplug your microfilter and plug the cordless base station directly into the master socket. If the funny noise has gone, the microfilter is at fault. Just had to change mine this week - they don't last forever.

Yep, and it's also still possible to be a line fault (or more specifically switching fault). There are many more faults than simply a dead line and broadband and voice calling are on two "separate" systems.

Not sure who your provider is, but I've had this problem with Virgin & 1571. It started with me not getting the changed tone when a message was left and excalated to the phones all going dead until I used my mobile to 'clear' the line. This has been a recent problem for me & it's still not fixed as the call centre in India are rubbish.

I've had that problem in the past, contact your line provider, mine was fixed in half a day.

Mine went off completely on Monday - no dial tone, engaged when calling. Broadband still worked though.

Yesterday. Broadband slow. Crackle on the line. Very quiet.

I'm guessing all the rain I had on Sunday has messes with some cables somewhere and it's slowley getting better.
