Never use gloss yuk its horrible stuff... use satin wood instead, much nicer finish and easier to apply.
Gingham ribbon... my house must be in a similar state to yours i too am in the middle of stripping skirting boards where previous owner has painted over and over again for the last 14 year with gloss. I have had my stair carpet for 2 month now but feel nowhere near ready enough to get a carpet fitter also to top it off OH is going to have first go at tiling the bathroom this weekend but we have been researching it in me mams 1970's decorating book and we feel pretty confident....
Good thing is i got my sitting room finished this week and had carpet fitted on monday ooooooh its so nice and squishy and smells lovely and new, just waiting for sofa to arrive now.0 -
A small roller does a much nicer job at applying satin wood or gloss than a paint brush. The small one is just the right height for my skirting board so in one stroke a whole length is done.
Update on my floor. I applied one coat of wax - really easy, I did the whole room in 2 hours. Only one snag. Dining table still in the room as you can't put anything on the wax floor for 12 hours so bit of a gap under the table:o
Should have put on second coat tonight but went to Debenhams instead
I'm out tomorrow night so it won't get done till friday night now. Oh well the TV looks lovely in the hallway with the dining chairs etc.
