Confused ???

Just switched to scottish power fixed tariff after doing comparison site telling me i would roughly be paying 13% (£140) more a year for my gas and elec. Ok i thought,so i switched. Redid a comparison last night just to see that i had done the right thing, especially after the recent increases, but to my horror the results told me that , for instance, switching to BG online energy 5 would save me just over £200 a year and e-on online £140 a year. Confused by these results especially after the latest price rises and now it has left me wondering if i have done the right thing in switching.

BG Click 5 hasn't increased their prices yet.

It's probably the cost of gas that is making the big difference.

For example if you just price fixed the electricity there is probably very little in it.

Whereas add in the gas and the price for the price fix shoots up by a considerable sum.

This was the reason we price fixed the electricity (first ever time price fixing as it never would work out worth it in the past) however didn't price fix the gas as it would have to increase by over 80% before it was worth it, and it would also mean too many months paying over the odds before the increases came through.

Note: the later price fix tariffs seem to have a lock in, so if you leave early then there is a termination fee.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
