    Everywhere!
Depends on what you want and who you are buying for.. best thing is to make a list of who you have to buy for then set a budget of how much you would like to spend on each person then shop around or come back to the chat forum and try asking for specific items. Me and my partner set a budget of how much we will spend on each other (usually £50.00) then get pressys only to this amount, once you start shopping around you will be suprised how much you can get for your money.
    hope this helps

Perhaps you could give a 'talent gift', where you do something which would be specifically aimed at the recipient. eg - If you have friends with young children give them a 'nights babysitting token' for example. For someone who hates gardening, you could present them with a 'voucher to have their grass cut'. Design an attractive certificate indicating what the gift is, and then arrange sometime mutually convenient for them to cash in their 'gift'. The possibilities are endless.I have done this before and people have really appreciated it. Or if you are good at baking, how about some home-made goodies to pass on - people seem to really appreciate these.

It's amazing what you can buy in Poundland. If you buy presents for people from Poundland who havn't got a Poundland in their town they will never know :A

Take a look at the magazine subscription thread on Shop But Don't Drop (sorry I can't do links). You can often get some great free gifts with a fairly cheap subscription. Boots and Marks and Spencers also have really good 3 for 2 deals. I have also managed to get some great presents from ebay so it might be worth a look. Hope that helps.

If you are buying gifts for females (especially young females) then get yourself to Claires Accessories and buy one of their £2 lucky bags (they are pink sealed bags, usually near the till in a dumpbin, and they are BOGOF at the moment). The contents retail at over £10, and most are closer to £20. Bags usually contain a selection of cheap and chearful earrings, toe rings and necklaces, the bulkier ones might have a soft toy or hair accessory.

If you have access to a Next Outlet, they are selling toiletry gifts for men for 99p! Choice of lager gift set or hangover gift set.

Alternatively, be honest with your friends and family and tell them that finances are tight this year and that you will be giving only to only the absolute closest family and friends. I was in your situation a couple of years ago, and the relief each year of having only a couple of people to buy gifts for is enormous, and I'm sure most people feel the same. Say no to retail frenzy.

Yes, absolutely. Love that phrase - 'say no to retail frenzy'. Couldn't agree more!
