stampduty holiday

i am about to exchange contracts a newbuild property, of which the builder is supposed to pay stampduty, now that stampduty has been scrapped, could i for carpets instead? advice needed

    Ask for the money as a discount. Even though they're "free" you get royally ripped off by developers on F&Fs. They pay very little for them and tell you the RRP is a million pounds a metre.
    Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

    I hope not, as this would be a nice little reward after our lenghty and frustating purchase!!
