I always use new browser window to open my online bank,paypal & ebay. Even so, if you copy and pasted thier link, it could be to a different place, like https://www.paypal.scam.com (only it would be harder to spot!)0

If you open your own browser page there is never any need to use a link from a potnetially dodgy email.
