Remote Garage door problem

Just moved into a house that has a Hormann electric garage door, it works ok when i press the button to operate it on the motor, problem is that it doesn't work with the remote, nothing happens apart from a green light light's up when i press the remote on the remote, no lights change on the motor.

Can anybody help/advise?

Thanks

Are the batteries in the remote OK?

If it is not the batteries is it possible that the frequency on either the remote or the receive has been changed?

I have a fairly old system and accidentally knocked one of the small internal switches when I changed the battery in the remote
  • Never noticed the internal switches till you said, there are ten of them numbers 0-9, they are all switched on, how do i know what one's to turn off?

There should be some sort of matching one, in the other unit (not sure if you mean the remote or door bit) Mine both have the 0 switched on and all the others off

    Is it a grey remote approx 1" x 2".

If so theyre really prone to breaking if dropped (we're on our 3rd).

If its that remote control, it doesnt have any internal buttons, you hold it near the sensor on the motor & then have to follow a sequence of button presses for the motor & remote to register with each other. I think the instructions are on the side of the motor, but you can probably find online also.
  • Have a feeling i just need the sequence to set the 10 internal buttons as they are all switched on, as i say the remote appears to work as the green light up when the button is pressed.
    Thanks
  • Hope you've sorted this by now, but its definately to do with your 'DIL' switches (Tiny switches inside your remote that set/address it to your reciever on motor control)
Easiest way, if you think its just the one switch knocked, is move each one individually and try it, it will do no harm to your control
