If you write a pleading letter to Customer Services I think they will refund so long as this is the first time. Worth a try!0

You signed, and therefore agreed to, the terms and conditions of your account.
You failed to keep to those terms and conditions.
Therefore they are well within their rights.
Although I do agree in this case it should be waived.
Saying bye bye Lloyds TSB is a bit stupid. You were the one at fault yet, as usual, you blame the bank.
Seems to be a habit of a lot of people on MSE.0 -
I blame the bank too.
Any organisation with even half a brain would have a line of code in their computer programme which said something like "if shortfall less than £1 then do not apply an automatic penalty"................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -

Actually the code would need to have "AND this did not happen last month" or some smartalec moneysavers would deliberately pay in 99p short every month
But I do agree that just because they can charge according to the T&Cs doesn't mean they should. Give CS a call and if they won't play then move elsewhere - if we all do it then eventually they'll get the hint!
As an aside this nearly happened to me but the bank cashier pointed out my mistake and gave me the chance to change itTANSTAAFL !0 -
I know they can make a goodwill payment and if you speak to them nicely they will refund the charges. It happend to me with the associates I underpaid by 8p and explained I read the figure as £8.00 instead of £8.08 and refunded the amount without question. Remember by being aggressive with them will get you know no where.0
