I have a £1k overdraft on an HSBC account.
Is it possible to transfer this debt to a credit card 0% interest type deal?

The facility of transferring debt from a Bank Account (i.e. an overdraft) to your Credit Card is known as SBT (Super Balance Transfer). Note that the funds go the other way, from the Credit Card to your Bank Account thereby paying off your overdraft.
Only a few rather special cards have this facility. These include Egg, Egg Money, Post Office Card and most cards run by MBNA (including the Virgin range of cards).
In addition MINT periodically issue Credit Card Cheques that can be paid into a Bank Account at Balance Transfer rates. However this is the least satisfactory option because the cheques cannot always be requested and, unless they are already in your possession, you don't know when they are going to drop through your letterbox.0
