If I enable WPA security on my wireless router, I can't get access via my laptop HELP

when i try to connect it can see the connection but not connect to it.
it`says cannot find adaptor. when i turn off elec to bt white ethernet home hub thingee then turn on again it works but this is a real pain.
maybe i need a new home hub?
