Any recommended over 50s make-up consultations?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a decent independent make-up consultation for the over 50s, preferably in Birmingham or Manchester? I want to treat my mum for Christmas, but we don't want to be ripped off/misadvised by the over made-up women who always seem to staff the department store counters. Thanks.

I had a make-over with a make-up artist at the MAC store in West London and it was fabulous. You pay £25/30 minutes or £50/90 minutes, and it's redeemable against any products you buy. He asked me what kind of look I wanted, explained what he was doing step-by-step, and wrote down the products for me. Give the Birmingham store a call to see if they do sessions - MAC staff really know their stuff.
