I'm looking for shops that you recommend. I've got a new build that has no flooring at all. I'm looking for

Just had a carpet laid. I sourced the underlay myself from the internet, much cheaper than carpetRight and the like.

The cheapest I found was https://www.completelyflooring.co.uk who only stock cloud 9 underlay, but it seems very good and was recomended a lot on the 'net. For 30sqm of 9mm cirrus it worked at about 3.50/sqm delivered. They sell by the meter and delivered on the day I asked.

Other places I looked at are http://www.tradepriced.co.uk/ or http://www.discounted-carpet-underlay.co.uk/ who have a much bigger range.

If you want new carpet gripper strips https://www.screwfix.co.uk will sell you 150m for £18 I think. I think carpetRight want something like £1.50/m.

The carpet places seem to make most of their proffit on underlay/gripper/etc. so get it cheaper elsewhere and make sure their fitter will fit your stuff for no or little charge.
