  • go onto the wilkinsons website and order them to come into your store, you dont have to pay postage.
I did this the other day as they never seem to have any in that I want.
I did this after reading your post last week :A
They phoned me Saturday to tell me they were instock - haven't had a chance to pick them up yet but great service, I kept going in and they didn't have any of the £1.99 ones in stock.
Dunelm had some great ones cheap £1.99 mark last week. 99p store do a huge oval one for - guess:rolleyes:
Agree with everyone else Instore/Poundstretcher; Matalan; Poundland etc
  • Hi

Its worth having a look on ebay for job lots

I got about 14 baskets for under £10 inc postage ... pure luck that I bid and no one bid against me

My hubby wasnt as please when I took delivery of them just before we moved house :o but hey it was a bargain!
  • I got most of mine in Wilkos for about £1.50 each. I've also picked up a couple in Poundstretcher (which is the same as In Store) for a couple of pounds each. Poundland have also got some good ones.
:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator :p
  • Our 99p shop stocks loads of baskets (at a great price!) And I also bought some for my flowers girls from hobbycraft for £1.89 but they might not be the kind you're after, they're the small type with large oval handles.
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I would definately ask on freecycle as Mary said. I asked yesterday morning and so far this morning I have 8 baskets to pick up! :)

I read another thread where people were using the Cath Kidston bags from Tesco, or any of the 'I'm not a plastic bag' long life things would be really useful.

Just had to say how super they look, beautifully done with the cellophane, curly ribbon etc. After posting I read that one was for your brother, now he may appreciate Cath Kidston....

I was looking at some of the hessian bags we have that also turn into wine carriers they might look a bit more masculine!
  • Wow those trays/bags are lovely. I never thought to use the bags as a 'wrapping'. Those Cath Kidston bags are lovely aswell and so much cheaper than the normal CK ones.

    What a nice idea.

Thankyou. One is for my grandad and I did another which is for my uncle and Aunt. I used all fairtrade items as they only use these things normally but hopefully will still be appreciated as a present as the thought is there. I used the other cath Kidson bag (blue and white spots) for my grandad as I couldnt find a suitable hessian one which would fit the tea tray inside.
