Can't find baskets!

Hi All,

I am hoping to make 3 baskets full of goodies for my in-laws and brother for Christmas. The problem I am having is finding any baskets. I obviously live in a rubbish area! I am no-where near the following stores: Home Bargains, Aldi, Hobbycraft. I do have a Wilkinsons and looked in there but they didn't have any that were in my price range really, maybe they had sold out? I don't want to spend too much as my limit for each person is £20 and although I am making some bits (flannel yule logs/muffins/jam)

Can I ask where people are getting their Christmas hamper baskets from and what sort of prices you are paying?

Thanks

Naomi x

I'm not making baskets, but have you tried Freecycle?

Asking there may get you a bunch of baskets from people who received gift baskets but have no use for them :)

  • go onto the wilkinsons website and order them to come into your store, you dont have to pay postage.
I did this the other day as they never seem to have any in that I want.

I've bought several of my baskets from Instore - they recently had some lovely white wicker ones with cotton linings, which were very pretty. I've also bought some from Matalan.

It's always worth looking out for baskets in charity shops. One near me had a huge crate filled with all shapes and sizes of wicker baskets which they were selling off for 20p each last weekend!

I asked this morning on my local freecycle for baskets, not had any replies as yet though. Fingers crossed.
If you have a poundstretcher then they sometimes have nice ones in. What about dunelm? or Aunaturale? have you looked in the local charity shops? they sometimes have in boxes or baskets.

I'm doing four baskets this year and also got mine from car boot sales - I paid between 50p and £1 for mine.
