Well after much scrimping and scraping and recalculating we are still £100 short this month and there are no more cutbacks I can make so it's dreaded ebay time and I'm going to have to put my beloved dolls house and Radley bag on.
Hopefully a year from now I will be celebrating being debt free and the first thing I'm going to buy is a HUUUGGGEEE dolls house with loads of lights and furniture!! (Try not to think about the fact I will almost be 30 then!!
)
Just wodnering if anyone else has had to sell things they didnt really want to when things got tight and what you're going to treat yourselves too when you get out of debt? :T

Neither a Radley Bag nor a dolls house would hold me back. But there are things I wouldn't like to have to sell so you have my sympathy :A
On the other hand I have discovered an awful lot of things that we've been holding onto because "one day they'll be worth something" (and that day is now) and I've been glad to get shot of them. I'm enjoying my more streamlined life.
And one day I hope you get a dolls house with all the bells and whistles you want.0 -
I don't even know what a Radley bag looks like......
But if needs must - sell!0 -
My Radley bags have already gone
I actually wasn't bothered about losing them as I realised it was purchases like those which got me where I am.
I bet when I am debt free I wouldn't spend the money to replace them, I'll make do with my £3 Primark special lolProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

If I had the money..... it would be a Radley Bag...
If you do Ebay it, please go careful. Lots of fakes being sold and scammers buying genuine ones out there and buckets of different types of scams. And I am preaching to the converted, aren't I!!!!???0 -
Full sympathy over the dolls house. Not into bags though so sorry that one i cant feel sorry for.
I have two cheap houses I am slowly, when the pennies allow it, doing up. Bought them for £15 and £25. Actually have plans drawn up for a third one which will cost around £120 to make in its basic form. Keep buying its windows when I find them reduced.

I was amazed when I sold my radley purse on Ebay. It was 2 years old, I'd used it every day and it had scuffs on it. I stated all this very clearly with big photos showing the condition of it. It sold for £14!Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)Loan from Friend = £20000

Mbaz
- oh gosh sympathy to you & well done, not sure I could be parted from my gorgeous turquoise leather bag with pink lining that cost ahem, ahem, ahem pounds. I'm lying, I absolutely know I will not be parted from it, in fact I want to be buried / cremated with it.
I dont do ebay; if I want it I keep it, if I dont want it I give it to charity shops but when I was at college & very poor I used to take my albums into the local 'junk' shop & sell them for about £3 each, then about 2 weeks later when I was flush I'd go & buy them back for £4. No wonder the owner was always so happy to see me  .
I dont have many possessions but I love & cherish what I do have ( & yes, I do still have my old vinyl & still play them now & then )
