Can anyone tell me what this means??
E-on have sent me a letter telling my what the price rises will be and have listed Primary Unit rates and Secondary Unit rates - I don't understand what these are - I feel sure that I will get a far more sensible answer from you knowledgable lot than a call centre.
TIA

It's a way of not having a standing charge.
So they charge you more for the primary units to recover the standing charge.
I think Eon is 900 kwh per year, so each quarter the first 225 kwh are at primary rate, and any more units in that quarter are at the secondary rate.0 -
Thank you so much for the reply - I always had a sneaky feeling that they were robbing be**ers and know I know for sure :rotfl:0

If you don't like they've probably got a standing charge version so you can pay around 40p a day whether you use any energy or not.0
