Help needed about funding and grants

Hi,
I just heard of this site from listening to the radio this morning and after looking through the suggested sites i found nothing that applies to my situation. So i thought i would seek guidance here.
My situation is that I live in Wales and went to university for 3 years but I came away from it feeling like I had not learned anything that i felt was essential to building my chosen career. Ive now come to the conclusion that i need to go back and find another University to re study at. I had considered a masters degree, but i settled at a 6 month intensive course in canada. (at a considerably high extra cost).
There is an availiable loan for up to half the ammount i should need. But Im not sure im entitled to it as i already have a student loan that i had taken from my last course. I have a small sum of money that will make up a portion of the other half, but i wonder if there is anywhere suitable for me to apply for a grant or extra funding to afford the rest.
I appreciate any help or advice you can offer.

i doubt that for studying abroad you will find any general grants from the uk. there are specific scholarships like fulbright for the US, but these are competition grants rather than a loan. your best bet will probably be asking the institution you are going to about the grants it offers for overseas students, but you should be prepared that there may not be any and working until you have saved up enough money may be the only option.
otherwise, look at funded masters courses in the uk..... not what you want, but if you can't afford to go to canada, that might settle it!:happyhear0 -
Thanks Melancholly for the help, however do you have any insight into the confusion of getting another loan after already having a student loan previously?
Thanks again0 -

Thanks again
Student loans (ie loans from the SLC) are totally different from any other sort of commercial loan you might get to fund a post grad course. What type of loan are you talking about getting?0 -
As far as I'm aware you don't get student loans and grants for your masters.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

i'm not sure that you can get student loans for courses abroad either! as Rikki says, they certainly don't cover postgraduate study and this short course would probably fall into that category.

you can give them a ring - but i think the answer will be a flat no! they have given you the support for a full undergraduate degree and they are not obliged to help you because you are choosing to go abroad for an 'expensive' course. sorry!:happyhear0
