BMI Diamond Club Moan

I need to get to Heathrow for a flight check in by 11.30am. This left me only a few options as I'm travelling from Scotland. I decided to investigate the fly down from Edinburgh route. For five of us flying with BMI the price would be £430. Far too rich for my blood. Then I remembers my BMI Diamond Club membership with the 43000 miles on it. Using all the miles it would cost me £390. The actual price of the flight is £8 each the rest is taxes, charges, anything else they can add on. Investigating futher I find in reality no matter what flight I could book or what other perk I could order such as hotels or M&S voucers 43000 is work £40. So while they might advertise that for this amount of miles I could get a flight to the USA the truth is I can't get even close.

You could hire a car for about £50, then the petrol would cost you about £45 to drive the 400 miles.

    Bargain!

(although allow perhaps 8 hours for the journey...)

I now just ignore all "cheap" flights now, unless they specifically say that the price includes EVERYTHING!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Sorry if this sounds rude it isn't meant to. I have looked at all my options and basically I'm down to two. First go down a day early and book a hotel for the night. Travelodge will give us 2 rooms for £59 or drive all night. Normally I would drive all night but as this was the very cheap expedia deal we have a connection in Minneapolis and so don't really get into Orlando until 5am next day our time.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of leaving at 3am in a hire car, then whoever is not driving can sleep, so no need for hotel! Then, you could sleep on flights!

When it comes to holidays, sleeping costs!

The Travelodge rooms sound a reasonable price.

It's often the case booking a cheap holiday, then it costs you a lot of money getting to the departure point!
