Also where is the best place to get them i am looking at roughly about 25 of each and not too expensive

Which discs you need depends on where you want to use them. If you want to play a CD in your CD walkman, a DVD won't work. If you have a standalone DVD player, it may only play DVD-Rs or DVD+Rs.
CD-Rs, DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs can be written to once, while CD-RWs, DVD-RWs and DVD+RWs can be erased and written to many times. RWs are more expensive than Rs, and often need to be burnt at a lower speed. There's no such thing as CD+Rs or CD+RWs.
If I remember rightly, DVD+Rs (and RWs) use a little bit more space for error-correction than DVD-Rs and DVD-RWs, so the capacity is very, very slightly lower, but may be more reliable in the long term.
Oh, I *think* that DVD-RAM can be read from and written to simultaneously, so you can record a programme off the TV while you're watching it, and pause the playback, while the rest of the programme is recorded... So long as the DVD-recorder accepts DVD-RAM disks!
Not sure the cheapest place to buy them, though. Surprisingly the Superdrug have pretty cheap discs...
Hope this helps...0 -
The ONLY discs ive tried that have worked on everything (so far) are DATAWRITE TITANIUMS. (Any of them)
I recommend AGAINST RWs as these are rewritables, which are more expensive and tend not to work in some equipment.
I use ebay for mine now, be about 12 quid for a pack of 50 DVDs (Though packs of 25 will of course be cheaper):idea:0 -
Yeah - I'm not keen on re-writables either - too many read/write problems. Most familiar CD brands that I have used have been fine. I did a bit of research before buying my first batch of DVDs and found that Verbatim were considered by far the most reliable - particularly for dual layer discs.0

The Verbatim I used didnt work on either of my drives!:idea:0

I use
Imation CD +RW
Tesco DVD + RW (cheapest and work)
datawrite DVD +R's
Tuffdisc DVD +R's
Aone +DL (very well priced and known to be good with liteons)*Make every day Caturday*0 -
