Alternatives to Just Giving?
Anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Just Giving? They are obviously a market leader in what they do, but their convenience comes at a price - £15/month+VAT plus the card handling fees.
We have some people who want to do a sponsored event for our charity and would love to setup online giving. If necessary we will go with Just Giving but would love to know of alternatives that would save us money.

everyclick have just started doing this. They're cheaper than JG, but don't know how good their service will be, but might be worth a look.for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -
The service looks promising.0

JG take £15/month+VAT, 5% of every donation and also add on the credit/debit card handling fees.
Everyclick/Charities Trust take just 4.8% with no monthly fees and this includes the credit/debit card fees.0 -
Bmycharity is another alternative, slightly lower cost transactions than JG, no monthly fee, but they do charge a £150 setup fee!

Everyclick still looks like the best option. Anyone else with suggestions?0 -
My Charity Page - going longer than EveryClick, free basic service for charities, you pay more for more detailed reports, IIRC.Signature removed for peace of mind0

could you not just add the charities paypal email address, just as easy and convenient, and probably a lot cheaper, although it does rely on others having a paypal accountThe sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0

We signed up to Just Giving last year and the cost was an issue, but I have to say it was one of the best decisions we made. It is high profile, easy to use and we have even had people sign up and raise money for us that had not come through our charity previosuly.
I would recommend Just Giving, despite the cost.
All that said, I came across this website this week that does exactly the same thing with no setup or monthly costs for charities, and non profits are due to be added later in the year. www.help.co.uk
I do have concerns about help.co.uk though, all charities are added there was no opt in. So I emailed asking what happens if someone donates to our charity, and they claim they send a cheque to the official charity address. But, we only have their word that they pass donations on. I was also alarmed at an unprofessional comment in the email that was clearly aimed at Just Giving (See below). Our service (unlike some others), gives you full control online for FREE! It’s more important to us that the charity is getting the most out of help.co.uk, and not the other way around.
Help.co.uk does look ok, but for now we are sticking with Just Giving.
Hope this helps.0 -

A new UK online charity www.globalgiving.co.uk offers a gift registry service where by you can ask friends/sponsors to give money to the cause of your choice. They have no start up fee for a charity and take 10% of a donation(to cover credit card trans/admin etc).0
