it's happened again! no volume grrrrrr

Hi all, last week I uninstalled IE7 and now I have no volume control on the task bar. I've tried going into control panel/sounds and adding it to task bar but it won't allow me it pops up a message saying I cant do that until I instal some kind of volume software which is nuts because I do have sound I just can't blooming turn it up or down unless I go through the whole long winded process of going into the control panel. before I uninstalled IE7 I had a volume on the task bar, this happened before after a problem with IE and someone on here helped me get it back so hoping someone can help me again. pleeeeease
:p

do you know what your sound card is (either onboard or add on)
if you have the drivers for it - they may include a volume control device.
Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig

You should NEVER uninstall internet explorer (Or indeed any of microsofts programs ~ bar DEFENDER) unless you absolutely have to
But if thats the case why not reinstall it?
