Hello,

I would like to know if its worth getting Identity Protection for my credit cards, bank accounts, passport, driving licence - and if you know how much this costs.

    Not worth it IMO. They cost around £15-35 a year.

    Agree with Skyrider007, there is legislation in place giving you rights should you have your identity stolen, so you should be able to sort it without the help of an insurance company.

    Its just a nice little earner for the insurance companies IMO.

    Comment: ID Protection for cards you've already got is a complete waste of money.

    Q. Why.

    A. If your card is used fraudulenlty before you report it lost or stolen the most you will have to pay is £50 (Banking Code Article 12.11)

    IF however you dispute a transaction and your card issuer deems you have not acted with reasonable care (and this forum confrims this happening more and more), you may be held liable for all losses. If this is the case, card ID protection insurance won't cough up either - ask them.
